Marcus Isaiah, a native of the Washington Metropolitan area, holds Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and Choreography at Virginia Commonwealth University, under the guidance of Dr. James Frazier, Chair, and fellow faculty members. He began his training at Dance Expressions Inc, in Maryland. He graduated from Suitland High School Center for Visual and Performing Arts as a dance major. Exploring his passion for movement, he continued his training outside of school with The Anointed Dance Ministry and Company LLC and DC Showbiz. Later, to continue his training he attended various other schools, studios, intensives, and institutions along with being casted in multiple productions throughout the metropolitan and tri-state areas.

In the process of enhancing his dance technique he has had the pleasure of working with artists and creative such as: Kim Bears-Bailey, Christopher Huggins, Tuluv Price, Daniel Gwirtzman, Camille A. Brown, Gerri Houlihan, Christian von Howard, Scott Putman, Derrick Spear and Ellenore Scott just to name a few. Post graduation, he began working professionally; touring internationally as a dancer, working as a guest choreographer. Maintaining a career as a Professional Dancer, Dance Educator, and Creative Artist, also continuing to train and polish his tool in class at various studios and workshops. Marcus continues to broaden his vocabulary within the performing arts branching into acting as well as singing. His intention is to develop an individual sense of trust through one’s personal sound and body. He believes it’s important to guide the dancer towards self-awareness, not self-consciousness.
